ACT I — WHY WE EXIST

Stories have power. They shape not only how we see the world, each other, and ourselves, but how we live our lives. They can challenge, heal, and ignite action. We exist to harness that power with cinematic precision and perspectives forged in the sacred in-between: the personal and the collective, Indigenous and Settler, traditional and contemporary, soft and bold, the spirit world and the earth that sustains us.

This isn't a contradiction.

It's a gift.

It means we can walk into any room, any community, any boardroom and find common ground. It means we see stories others miss. It means we bring a fluidity to our work that allows us to connect across boundaries that often divide.

We don't make content.
We make films that matter

— for clients who demand more than just deliverables.

NOLAN McALLISTER — FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

I was born on October 11th — National Coming Out Day — under the sign of the scales. Libra. Balance. Duality. If you believe Creator places us exactly where we're meant to be, the alignment wasn't subtle. It was a declaration.

I've filmed in every province and territory in Canada. That wasn't a bucket list — it was the privilege of a lifetime. From Arctic tundra to coastal rainforests, boardrooms to living rooms, I've had the honour of sharing stories from every corner of this country. The ones that live in the in-between. The ones others walk past without seeing.

As a 2-Spirit Métis person, I exist in the overlap — Indigenous and settler, masculine and feminine, technical craft and raw intuition. This isn't a contradiction. It's a gift. It means I can sit with Elders and present to executives with equal fluency. It means I catch the frame, the moment, the story that someone else would miss. It means I bring a fluidity to my work that connects across boundaries that often divide.

That duality is my edge. It informs how I approach every project, every frame, every narrative — not as a limitation, but as a lens that sharpens everything we touch.

I founded Orenda Films to prove that Indigenous-led production could compete at the highest level — not as a category, but as the standard.

Our name calls on us to remember our profound potential, our interdependence, and our interconnectedness — cultivating our individual, communal, and collective gifts for the greater good.

That's our story. Let's tell yours.
