About the Project

The First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to empowering First Nations in making informed business decisions regarding their involvement in major natural resource and infrastructure projects. Celebrating its 5th anniversary, FNMPC stands as a testament to the collaborative effort in promoting economic, environmental, and public policy interests of First Nations in a non-political and business-centric manner.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

To commemorate its five-year journey, FNMPC initiated a film project designed to encapsulate the values, achievements, and aspirations of the organization and its members. The project aimed to capture the essence of Indigenous storytelling, focusing on the land, the people, and the cultural heritage that form the foundation of the Coalition.

The commissioned deliverable was a three-minute anniversary trailer. The production, however, yielded a depth of material that format could not accommodate. Orenda Films produced this mini documentary in addition to the original scope and delivered it to FNMPC as a surprise.

PROJECT SCOPE & DETAILS

The film was created to showcase the crucial work of FNMPC over the last five years, highlighting its impact on Indigenous communities. It aims to reflect the coalition's dedication to overcoming historical barriers and fostering self-sustaining economies with a vision for a cleaner, greener future.

RESULTS

The film has been instrumental in vividly portraying the drive and passion of Indigenous leaders across Turtle Island. It serves as a powerful narrative tool, echoing the voices of those committed to building a brighter, more sustainable future. The project not only commemorates the past achievements of FNMPC but also sets a forward-looking tone for continued collaboration and growth.
